Michelle's path to professional lactation support has been exciting and diverse. The birth of her first child in 2000 transformed her from an I.T. systems analyst to a grassroots advocate for birthing and breastfeeding moms. Leaving the corporate world and moving to Arizona with her growing family allowed Michelle to pursue certification as a birth doula through DONA International and to start attending as many lactation conferences and courses as she could. After seven years as a doula, three years as a birth assistant at Blossom Birth Center and many hours of study and lactation support, Michelle passed the IBLCE exam in 2013 and joined the Arizona Breastfeeding Center.
In addition to helping moms and babies with birthing and breastfeeding, Michelle has also worked on various public policy projects to promote breastfeeding legislation in California and Arizona, as well as volunteering with the Arizona Birth Network and Breastfeeding USA as a support group leader. She continues to pursue personal hobbies such as cooking, crochet and other crafts, while she and her husband keep up with three growing, active children!
